Introducing the Devonshire Collection
Modern fashion began with the famous couturiers of 19th century Paris, in particular with the Englishman Charles Worth, but final confirmation of designer fashion as a world wide phenomenon came as a result of a party – possibly England's greatest party of all time, The Duchess of Devonshire’s Ball.
Held in 1897 this was the fancy dress party to end them all as everyone who was everyone was invited to attend, dressed in costume as all the Kings and Queens (and their courts) of history from classical times onwards. The Costumes were created by the great couturiers of the age, The Duchess own costume made by none other than Worth himself.
We are proud to present to you our latest collection for Winter 2008/9 - nightgowns and robes inspired by England’s greatest party – The Duchess of Devonshire’s Ball. Designed to make you feel like a Queen!
